Richmond's favorite thrashers are back! Municipal Waste are about to drop their fifth album, and first for Nuclear Blast, The Fatal Feast. It'll be out a week from today, on April 10, and you can preorder it HERE. In the meantime, check out the brand new video for the album's title track. Directed by Jeff Speed of Halo Of Flies and filmed on the set of sci-fi cult classic TV series Firefly, this video is a space gore epic in which a seemingly-abandoned space station is not as deserted as it initially seems. Yeah, it's a plotline we've all seen before, but you can't really go wrong with this tried and true formula, and the Waste prove that in fine fashion over the course of this three-and-a-half-minute onslaught. Musically, the song isn't quite as unrelentingly fast as some of the Waste's past classics, showing some more overt crossover influence on its mosh-inspiring verses, which are sure to get crowds moving. The chorus still shreds at full thrashing speed, though, and this is clearly the same Municipal Waste we've come to know and love over the past decade. "The Fatal Feast" even features a guest vocal turn from John Connelly of 80s thrash-metal legends Nuclear Assault (still going strong after more than 25 years), whose influence on Tony Foresta's vocals is made quite apparent by the juxtaposition of their two voices. But you aren't here for my chin-stroking analysis of this song's finer musical qualities, are you? You clicked this link to hear some thrash and see some gore! And so, without further ado, I give you Municipal Waste. Enjoy!
