Here's the new video from RVA hip-hop crew Suburban District, "When Girls Kiss Girls." This club-ready track cranks it up right away with banging beats and siren-like high-pitched synth sounds, over which Suburban District's MCs display their talents with some nasty sex-style rhymes. The chorus--"Don't you love it when the girls kiss girls?" expresses a sentiment I've never entirely gotten (personally, I love it most when girls kiss ME), but that doesn't stop me from wanting to sing along. The song is produced by Conrizzle, who has made quite a name for himself on his own behalf around town--clearly he's willing to put just as much hard work into producing beats for his homies as himself. Meanwhile, the video, directed by Rob Roby, takes us through the events of an evening, beginning with Suburban District arriving at the club and quickly progressing into some naughty action happening behind closed doors. It's not like you actually see anything--mostly blurs and flashes that suggest a lot more than is being shown--but the lyrics are raw enough that you shouldn't be watching this video at work anyway. There's a pretty great plot twist that happens about halfway through the video, too, so keep an eye out for that. This track is off the forthcoming Suburban District album Beer For Breakfast, which is scheduled to drop later this month, so keep an eye out for that! In the meantime, check the video:
