Australian quartet Royal Headache are probably considered a punk rock band by most of their fans, but if they'd been around 40 or 50 years ago, they'd have simply been rock n' roll. They write short, hyperactive three-chord tunes with simple song structures and choruses that are easy to remember and sing along with. The guitars are jangly rather than crunchy, and if anything marks them as part of the modern punk rock era, it's the speed with which they deliver their quick-fix tunes. The best single-word description of their music is actually probably "fun." The video for "Girls," a single from their self-titled album, is also a lot of fun. Filled with vintage home-movie quality clips of the band and their friends getting up to shenanigans at an amusement park, it brings the pleasantly exuberant feeling of a sunny spring afternoon right into your dreary work cubicle--or wherever you happen to be when you see it. And between the video's quick cuts between high-energy action shots and the song's epitomization of the perfect catchy upbeat pop single, you'll be amazed at the fact that what feels like a standard three-minute video is actually only a little over 90 seconds in length.
