DAILY FIX: Little Black Rain Clouds Wonderland Show Promo

It seems like a safe bet that everyone reading this website right now has been handed more than their fair share of show flyers. And most of the time, they get looked at for five seconds, crumpled up, and shoved into a pocket, to be forgotten about until laundry day rolls around (by which time the show has usually already happened). But wouldn't it catch your interest if, instead of just another piece of paper, a band handed you a horror film? Local electronic groups Little Black Rain Clouds and Gutter Gloss have basically done just that in promotion for their upcoming gig this Friday at Wonderland, and it certainly caught my attention! The video below is a two-minute film created by Joshua Fitzwater and Thomas Duerig of Gutter Gloss, which uses photo-animation to tell a surreal horror story. Set at the Byrd Theatre, the imagery simultaneously evokes David Lynch's Twin Peaks, Donnie Darko, and maybe even a touch of the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow. Soundtracked by a Little Black Rain Clouds song, the video stars the members of that group and eventually turns into a brief performance by the band. The video's primary goal is to promote the show at Wonderland on Friday, and it's certainly successful in that goal, but it's also a pretty cool short film in its own right. Be sure to check out Little Black Rain Clouds and Gutter Gloss with Heretics In The Lab at Wonderland (1727 E. Main St.) on Friday night at 10 PM (check out the EVENT PAGE for more info), but first, watch this video. It's pretty sweet.
