Ladies and gentlemen, pure rock fury returns once again to our nation's capital. In just a few short weeks, while everyone else is cleaning up shredded wrapping paper and drinking the last of the eggnog, Clutch will be bringing the awesome power of heavy metal to the stage at the 930 Club. With a new album, Earth Rocker, scheduled for release in early 2013, they're preparing the world for their tenth full-length onslaught, and the devastation should be a joy to behold. They'll be joined Mondo Generator, who are led Nick Oliveri, formerly of Queens Of The Stone Age; as well as Oakland stoner-metal heroes Saviours, and legendary Saint Vitus/Obsessed/Hidden Hand maestro Scott "Wino" Weinrich, who will open the evening with his unique acoustic doom sound. The result will be an evening filled with heaviness of many types, which will reach its pinnacle with Clutch's headlining performance. Is this the proper way to celebrate Boxing Day? Well, who knows, but it should be a great way to spend your first post-Christmas evening, and that's the only excuse you really need, right?

To prepare you for what you'll see at the 930 Club the day after Christmas, here's a clip from back when Clutch played at the 930 Club a few years ago. The full set was eventually released on the double DVD set Clutch Live At The 9:30, but this is just one song--"Let A Poor Man Be," from their most recent album, 2009's Strange Cousins From The West. Enjoy!
