This weekend, erase the horrors of Valentine's Day from your memory--check out these events, and have so much fun that it doesn't matter if you were single and miserable or on a lame date.

Friday, 1/15 - Head Molt @ Strange Matter

Not everyone can listen to copious amounts of noise music at home on a daily basis, but it's a lot more palatable live at a place like Strange Matter, where the band is playing two feet in front of you and you can enjoy all the aural and visual aspects of the performance. For a complete noise music experience near you this Friday, check out Head Molt at S'Matter with Junius, Darsombra, and Degollado.

Friday, 1/15 - Meltdown Dance Party @ Cous Cous

The theme of this weekend seems to be all about dancing. If you love dancing but raves aren't your scene, you might feel more comfortable at Cous Cous hearing local DJs play the loudest and sloppiest garage, punk, rock, psych rock, etc. Come out, have fun, get some tasty drinks, and dance away your angst!

Saturday, 1/16 - River City Rumble @ The Canal Club

The dudes and dudettes that are behind B.A.D.A.S.S. RAVES& Wicked6 Studios are all about putting on a good show for all of Richmond's EDM fans, and this night promises to be no different. Lady of Faith, a female hardstyle DJ, is headlining, with support from San Fransisco's drum n' bassers Bachelors of Science, Washington DC's 2Rip, and many more. A lineup this diverse should satisfy electronic fans of all kinds, and there will be an awesome light show and plenty of on-stage entertainment for those who don't know the difference and just come to dance!

Saturday, 1/16 - Eoto @ The National

At the third and final dance party event of this weekend's listing, Eoto promises to deliver a night of wild jamming and live electronic music galore. Think electrojam, but less happy and more along the lines of dark drum n bass and triphop. They will also be appearing with Crizzly, Mammals, Reinhold, and Groove Status. A show this big at The National promises a phenomenal light show and an all-around great performance.

Space Pirates Vs. Space Babes @ Gallery 5

This event is literally called Space Pirates Vs. Space Babes and it's a burlesque show--that should be enough reason right there to go to this. There will be space age new wave music, an intergalactic photo booth, a costume contest, and lots of lovely burlesque dancers!

There are a lot more excellent events going on in Richmond this weekend--to learn about them all, just visit our calendar!
