It was only a few days ago that we were telling you about GWAR's brand new GWAR-B-Q Sauce, and already it appears that another RVA metal band has gotten in on the edible liquid production racket. As befitting their status as the hardest-partying quartet of axe-slinging metal warriors within the metropolitan area, Municipal Waste has joined with the staff at craft brewery Three Floyds to create their very own signature beer, the Toxic Revolution Stout Ale.

Municipal Waste drummer Dave Witte has made no secret ofhis love for high-quality craft beers, and is therefore particularly stoked about the opportunity for his band to have a signature beer, and in particular, one produced by Three Floyds. "Having a beer made for the band by Three Floyd's is incredible and a dream come true. Not only are they world class beer makers, they are great people and understand the band." Witte had the opportunity to take part in the beer's initial production, and had plenty of positive things to say about the experience. "After tasting the pilot batch and stages of the brew itself, I can say that this is going to be one hell of a beer. Three Floyd's always outdoes themselves and this is no exception!"

As for the brewmasters at Three Floyds themselves, they offered this explanation of their Waste-themed creation: "Toxic Revolution was borne of relentless experimentation, ancient alchemy, and hatred. Hatred of uninspired, flavorless beer. Municipal Waste demanded we brew a massive yet drinkable American style oatmeal stout perfect for winter shred sessions. Black as night and creamy on the palate with fruity, tropical hop notes balanced with roasted and chocolate malt. 50 IBUs, 8.5% ABV."

Toxic Revolution Stout Ale has been described as "a black liquid wall of death in your mouth," which sounds like the kind of thing that will please beer-loving Municipal Waste fans everywhere. Released this week through the regular distribution channels utilized by Three Floyds and available in 22 ounce bottles, Toxic Revolution can also be purchased on draught at the Three Floyds Pub in their hometown of Munster, Indiana, which is located about 30 miles southeast of Chicago... and around 800 miles northwest of RVA. So you're looking at about a 12-hour drive if you want to score a pint of Toxic Revolution on tap, but hopefully some of the 22s will show up in the better beer-selling establishments around town soon. Keep your eyes peeled, and check out the Three Floyds website if you need more info.

Municipal Waste are playing at Shaka's in Virginia Beach on Friday, March 15--oh hey, that's tomorrow night! Grab tickets online HERE. After that, starting on March 22, they'll be heading out on the Metal Alliance Tour with Anthrax and Exodus. The closest that tour comes to RVA is on April 14, when it will touch down in Silver Spring, MD, at The Fillmore. Tickets for that show are available HERE. Then in June, Municipal Waste will be touring in Australia and, for the first time ever, New Zealand. The only way those shows could be farther away from RVA would be if they were held on a space station, but hey, it's still pretty cool, right? Cheers to 'em!
