The Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project (RRFP) will be holding a fundraising flea market on the 300 block of S. Pine St this Saturday, April 20th from 9 AM to 4 PM. Vendors will be selling a wide variety of items, ranging from handmade jewelry, clothes and baked goods to used records, household items, and books. Proceeds from all sales will benefit RRFP. Event organizer Allison Libertine is hoping for a good turnout as the event takes place in Oregon Hill, a neighborhood with notable foot-traffic.
RRFP funds safe terminations for low-income women, with an average donation of $100 per client. Now is an important time to support reproductive freedom after new TRAP laws threaten to shut down about 20 clinics across the state. “The right [to a safe abortion] means nothing without access, which is [diminishing],” said Libertine. RRFP needs your support, so come out this Saturday, buy some stuff, and support reproductive rights in your local community!
