This weekend, the National Poster Retrospecticus comes to RVA's own Gallery 5 for one night only. Making its appearance this Saturday, April 20, the Retrospecticus is a massive display of hand printed concert posters featuring work by leading lights of the field such as Daniel Danger, Aaron Draplin, and Aesthetic Apparatus. The exhibit presents posters originally created for such artists as Modest Mouse, Ty Segall, Neil Young, and many more.

This exhibition is currently on tour around the United States. “We’re loading up the van with thousands of posters, making overnight drives to each city, sleeping on people’s floors and setting up the show for one night only,” tour producer John Boilard explains. If you want to see the exhibition full-sized and in all its glory, you're going to have to make it to Gallery 5 on Saturday night. But right now, just to give you a taste of what's in store, we've got a special sneak preview of the National Poster Retrospecticus for you to check out below.

The National Poster Retrospecticus will be on display at Gallery 5, located at 200 W. Marshall St, on Saturday, April 20 beginning at 7 PM. Musical entertainment will be provided by Little Master, First Creature, Home Body, and Fordists, and there'll be special beers on tap, including Bourbon barrel Legend Brown and Bourbon Barrel Legend Barley Wine.
