There is a ton of awesome stuff happening this weekend in the lovely RVA, from instagram parties and punk shows to, well, other awesome shows! There's not too much going on on Saturday, but there's a lot of awesome stuff happening on Sunday, so come on out, support your local music scene, and see some awesome art and music. Awesome!

Friday, 4/26 - #AllDayRVA Party @ Don't Look Back

If you participated in the #AllDayRVA instagram photo contest in March, or if you didn't but you want to check out some awesome local amateur photography, come out to Don't Look Back to check out the winners of the contest. There will be a prize for the judge's choice, the photo with the most likes online, and the RVA Mag staff pick. Frame Nation and RVA Mag have combined to bring you this awesome contest, and there will of course be plenty of great food and drinks from Don't Look Back. And even though the winners are picked, you can still check out all the entries online!

Friday, 4/26 - Burial @ Strange Matter

If you like Japanese hardcore, or German hardcore, you may not want to miss out on the hardcore show happening at Strange Matter Friday night. Burial, the German band that plays Japanese-style hardcore, will be headlining this show, along with awesome local openers Unholy Thoughts and Devil's Hand. Only seven bucks for a foreign band, you can't beat that!

Sunday, 4/28 - Wax Idols @ Strange Matter

Wax Idols, the awesome all-female postpunk band from Oakland, will be playing at Strange Matter on Sunday, after the RVA Noise Fest finally winds down. They'll be joined by Indianapolis no-wave band TV Ghost, and Richmond locals Big No (featuring members of The Catalyst) and Gunboat. This'll be a fun show to dance at if you like post punk, new wave, or no wave, and a great way to unwind if you've been at noise or metal shows all weekend.

Sunday. 4/28 - Gritter @ Bandito's

If you're still up for a raging time on Sunday, local metal band Gritter will be playing with Hydea, a metal band from North Carolina, and Pistol Whip Nikki, a local punk band. As usual, the show is free, and there are always good deals on drinks. If you miss the rest of the fun this weekend, make up for it all here!

Sunday 4/28 - Richmond Music Review # 18 @ Tobacco Company

RVA Magazine and Radio Rubber Room present another installment of Richmond Music Review. In fact, it's the 18th of these installments! It will feature John Deluca, The Vendors, Evolution of the Groove, and Celtic Panda, and will take place at the Tobacco Company, as usual. This show is always a great display of a wide variety of local music, so check it out if you find yourself in the bottom and want something to do!
