In conjunction with RVA Fashion Week, Saks Fifth Avenue at Stony Point hosted LA based designer Trina Turk for an in-store meet and greet. A DJ spun upbeat tunes while the designer mingled with seasoned shoppers and star struck fans alike.
Turk’s line of womenswear is known for its floral prints and popping color. Several models were dressed in her designs and looked as though they could have been on vacation in Palm Springs. The event was small but Turk’s presence provided a vibrancy to an otherwise stoic Saks Fifth Avenue.
Turk was a vision in a bright, crocheted dress of her own design. Fans snapped pictures and exchanged words while surrounded by racks of her namesake designs. I waited my turn to snap a photo and ask Turk some questions, a task I found much less daunting after hearing of the designer’s humility. After introducing myself and gushing about my love for her swimwear, I had a chance to ask a few questions.
