Dust off your bow ties and prepare to get classy for the 11th Annual Moonlight Magic presented by Hunton & Williams, Saturday June 8 at James River Cellars. “We offer wine tastings, craft beer donated by Lost Rhino Brewery, and a whole catered dinner,” said Lauren Kiger, Assistant Director of Development Events for the Massey Cancer Center.
After the dinner, patrons can dance under the stars to The Remnants, or participate in the silent and live auctions for items such as vacation homes, helicopter rides, or trips to South Africa. Proceeds will go towards the goal of raising more than $60,000 to fund research at the VCU Massey Cancer Center. According to a press release, this year’s Moonlight Magic will also begin the first year of the five-year pledge made by the Massey Alliance to raise $500,000 to fund cancer research.
“[Moonlight Magic] offers people the opportunity to have fun, but also learn about Massey Cancer Center and the resources that we offer to the community,” said Kiger. There will be a pre-party and after party held by Toast, located at 7007 Three Chopt Rd. Patrons who attend the pre-party can take advantage of the free limo shuttles to and from Moonlight Magic, provided by James Limousine.
James River Cellars is located at 11008 Washington Highway in Glen Allen. General admission tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Tickets and more information can be found by clicking here: http://www.massey.vcu.edu/moonlight-magic.htm
