We are getting into June, and the weather's warming up, but there is still plenty of awesome stuff going on in the city! Young Jeezy has rescheduled his show for this Friday, and there are plenty of other shows, benefits, and dance parties going on if you are looking to spend a little less cash. Whatever you do, have fun, stay cool, and support some of the great causes and cool shows this weekend!
Friday, 6/14: Young Jeezy @ The National
If you bought tickets for Young Jeezy last month, he's rescheduled the show for this Friday, and The National is honoring tickets from the last show! You can also still buy some if you haven't already, but they are running $50 in advance! Still, if you are a die-hard Young Jeezy fan, use your thug motivation and come up with the cash. You won't want to miss out on one of his rare live performances.
Friday, 6/14: The Fourth Estate @ Strange Matter
Stay Sweet Records puts on another great show this weekend at Strange Matter. It's headlined by Birmingham punkers The Fourth Estate, who will be joined by Ropers, a local pop punk band doing their first show. Victory Party, another virgin Richmond act, and beloved local acoustic band Furious George round out the bill. Come check it out if you want to hone in on some new punk talent and have a good time.
Saturday, 6/15: GayRVA's Big Gay Birthday Bash @ Barcode
If you love us and our partner site, GayRVA, then you need to come out to Barcode on Saturday for the GayRVA Big Gay Birthday Bash! GayRVA celebrates turning a big gay four years old, with sponsorship by Smirnoff. Packed with catchy music and birthday fun, this is a cheap and exciting event you'll want to check out for sure. RSVP to our lovely ted@gayrva.com for more details!
Saturday, 6/15: RingDog Rescue Benefit Show @ Baja Bean Co.
If you love saving adorable pitbulls and you also love drinking, dancing, and having a good time, you should go to Baja Bean Co. on Saturday night for the RingDog Rescue Benefit Show! 15% of proceeds from the bar go to RingDog Rescue, a group dedicated to saving pit bulls from dangerous situations in which they are forced to fight, and then finding good, safe, rehabilitating homes for them. The flier wrongly says five dollars, but this show is actually free! You'll just be paying for booze, and there will be music from Captain Captain, 6TA, The Mothball Fleet, and Darling Meridian. See you there!
Saturday, 6/15: Black Girls @ Balliceaux
If you love local Richmond indie music and going to dance parties at fun clubs in the fan, we've got the show for you this weekend. This giant dance party at Balliceaux features some sweet local dance pop from Zac Hryiac & The Jungle Beat, weird psychedelic stuff from The Delphines, and Richmond's favorite indie/soul band, Black Girls. Come hang out and dance all night.
