Are you picking up on the hype for the new Kanye West album? If you're aware of pop culture enough to be reading this website, we don't know how you could miss it. And if you haven't missed it, then surely you've heard about the projections of Kanye's face, accompanied by public playbacks of selections from his new album, Yeezus, which have been taking place in cities around the world over the past couple of weeks. Well, guess what? Tonight, projections of Kanye's face will make their home in RVA. Granted, this city isn't the size of New York or Paris, but considering our status as a hotbed of music, culture, and college basketball, it was sure to happen here eventually, and now, tonight, the time has come! So if you're the sort of person who enjoys hanging out on street corners listening to pre-release leaks of the most hyped hip hop album of the year, adjust your plans for the evening accordingly.
There will be three total Yeezus projections happening in RVA tonight. Here's the schedule:
1. Museum of the Confederacy (12th & E. Clay St.) • 9:30 – 10:00 PM
2. W. Broad Street & Harrison Street • 10:30 – 11:30 PM
3. N. Robinson Street & Floyd Avenue • 11:30 PM – 12:00 AM
If you don't have a date tonight, it might be worth it to hit up at least one of these locations--the cute young hipsters should be out in force (though maybe not as much as if VCU was still in session). Worth a shot, right? We'll also be out there scoping the scene for at least a couple of these. If anything noteworthy goes down, we'll keep you posted.
