Stay Sweet Records is holding two big shows tomorrow night, and you can catch both of them! Strange Matter and The Camel are only a few blocks away from each other, so getting back and forth shouldn’t be an issue. The entire extravaganza starts at 4 PM, so you can head over right after work and enjoy excellent live music throughout the evening.

Earlier in the day at Strange Matter, Loma Prieta, Full of Hell, and Fucking Invincible will be playing as they stop by Richmond on their 8-day East Coast stint. They will be supported by local screamo/math-rock hybrid Dial-Up.

Loma Prieta are from the San Francisco area and are part of the up and coming Bay Area hardcore scene, along with bands such as Punch (whom they also share members with). Loma Prieta is currently signed to Jacob Bannon from Converge’s label, Deathwish. The band put out a split EP with Italian screamo band Raein through Deathwish earlier this year. They contributed a cover of Black Flag’s “Spray Paint” for that EP, and you can hear it here: http://youtu.be/0Pp1oGlvuZY

Full of Hell is possibly one of the biggest new bands in the genre of extreme music. Currently signed to A389 Records, the band just released Rudiments of Mutilation, the follow up to their critically acclaimed debut, The Roots of Earth Are Consuming My Home. The band mixes noisy drone, power-violence, and the complete wall of sound aesthetic that can be so hard to master. Full of Hell continues to carry the torch of "evil personified in sound" that many metal bands have carried over the years. Check out the first single from their new record here:

Fucking Invincible released their debut EP, Very Negative, through Atomic Action! Records earlier this year. The band is based in Providence, RI and features members of Drop Dead, Soul Control, and Sweet Jesus. You can stream the 8-song release through Atomic Action’s bandcamp here:

The show at Strange Matter starts at 4 pm, with Dial Up going on at 5 pm. The show cost $8. Strange Matter is located at 929 W Grace Street. For more info on this event, click here.

Later in the evening, Plow United, Martin, and Pet Symmetry will be playing with two of your favorite local pop punk bands at the Camel. Doors for this show open at 8, and with a late show at Strange Matter starting at 9, you should be out of the Loma Prieta show with plenty of time to wander over to The Camel and catch the beginning of this show.

Plow United originally formed in 1992 playing pop punk that’s similar to Green Day, The Descendants, and Lagwagon. Fast, poppy, and at times kind of heartfelt, Plow United plays punk rock that comes straight from the era that tons of pop punk band are trying to replicate now. Plow United had actually broken up in 1998, but recently got back together and have been writing music and touring again since 2011. The band released their latest record, Marching Band, back in March. Here’s a video they put out for the song “Human 2000,” from Marching Band:

Pet Symmetry is a power-pop band featuring members of Into It. Over It. and Dowsing. While being comprised of guys who play in big-name modern emo bands, Pet Symmetry is kitschy and sweet as you’d imagine a band labeling themselves as a power-pop group would be. The band released a 7” EP through Asian Man Records earlier this year. You can hear the song from the A-side of this EP, "A Detailed and Poetic Physical Threat to the Person Who Intentionally Vandalized my 1994 Dodge Intrepid Behind Kate's Apartment," here: http://youtu.be/OWcPSFOVgAw

Martin is the secret project of former Spraynard guitar/vocalist Pat. Little is known about the band, other than that Square of Opposition Records released their debut EP, The Worst Part. Martin is a departure from what Pat had done in Spraynard, playing fast 80’s era punk rock instead of the poppier sound Spraynard established. You can check out The Worst Part right here:

Sundials and This Is Your Life will be supporting Martin, Pet Symmetry, and Plow United at The Camel. The show starts at 8 pm with bands going on at 9pm. The show cost $8 as well. The Camel is located at 1621 W Broad Street. For more info about this event, click here.
