There is a plethora of weird stuff going on this weekend for Richmonders to enjoy. Organ Donor are returning to their home stomping grounds, and will be playing with some other crazy, thrashy acts over at Strange Matter, and the same night, Gallery 5 is hosting a Disney-themed Burlesque performance. On top of that, Speedy Ortiz is stopping off here to play some weird punk, Dead Fame are playing another local show at Balliceaux, and Rob Schneider is going to be performing at The Funny Bone. Come out, get weird, and enjoy!

Friday, 8/9: Organ Donor @ Strange Matter

Richmond death metalers Organ Donor, fronted by former Cannabis Corpse vocalist Andy Horn, have been on tour with Coffin Dust from Philly for the past few months, and they are finally back in Richmond to play the last night of the tour at Strange Matter! They will also be joined by Razor Maze from Boston, and Midnight Eye from DC. Come out to hear some abrasive and awesome sounds and thrash out with some local and regional talent. Admission is only eight bucks!

Friday, 8/9: Once Upon A Tease @ Gallery 5

This Friday, come check out Once Upon A Tease, a burlesque troupe from Norfolk, as they provide us with a night full of Disney-themed debauchery at Gallery 5! The troupe features performers Lilly Liqeur, Elllie Quinn, Lacey LaBare, Siren Sivette, Scarlet Starlet, and Jendetta. Kittening, whatever that is, will be provided by Lindy Avalon, and the show will be hosted by local burlesque celebrity Deanna Danger. Not a bad deal for ten dollars in advance! Show starts at 9:00pm.

Saturday, 8/10: Speedy Ortiz @ Strange Matter

Strange Matter plays host to indie rock/punk freaks Speedy Ortiz this Saturday, along with local indie favorites, Sundials, Little Master, and Springtime. Last time these famed Massachusetts rockers graced Richmond with their presence, they were simply a little-known band playing a house show. This time around, they've gotten press in Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, and they are headlining a show at one of RVA's premier venues! This show will also mark the release of a brand new Richmond 'zine, Draft Dodger.

Saturday, 8/10: Dead Fame @ Balliceaux

Dead Fame will be playing Balliceaux again this Saturday, this time with a successfully-produced music video and some newly-released music under their belts! They will be joined by post-punk/disco favorites Short Skirts for a rocking good time. Come catch Dead Fame as they take the city by storm and become one of Richmond's most active and admired local bands.

Friday, 8/9 - Sunday, 8/11: Rob Schneider @ The Funny Bone

Rob Schneider is a woman, an animal, a gigolo, and so much more! And this weekend only, he will be appearing at The Funny Bone comedy club in Richmond to do standup. Apparently he just co-wrote a Happy Madison production called Grown Ups and is staring in an upcoming romantic comedy, but hey, I'm just excited that he's going to talk in a stupid voice and be Rob Schneider. If you have $27 to spare and you're a big comedy fan, this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is definitely worth checking out!
