August 22nd-25th, Bartow, West Virginia will play host to the seventh annual Camp Barefoot Music Festival. Stanlee Ventures, LLC is responsible for the planning of this grassroots festival. They are “super excited,” said Scott McLain from Stanlee Ventures.
“We are extremely proud of what we have accomplished over the last 7 years while getting a loyal fan base who have supported us for a long time,” said McLain.
These devoted fans have allowed the festival to grow into what it has become this year. McLain says they expect 3,000 festival-goers to be on site in Bartow. Barefoot will flaunt four stages and a silent disco this year.
McLain said that this year they wanted to work on broadening the lineup. “We brought in Artists at Large like Jennifer Hartswick from Trey Anastasio Band, and Nigel Hall from the band Lettuce,” McLain said. “They will be sitting in with a lot of bands.”
The fans are “super excited,” McLain said, for artists such as “Kyle Hollingsworth Band featuring Anders Osborne & Motet Horns, Keller Williams and his funky band: More than A Little, Electro rock: Conspirator and EOTO....A ton of talk and a lot of excitement.”
“The lineup selection makes me extremely proud every year because this is something I focus on personally to make extremely unique and a multi genre style event,” McLain continued.
Aside from the numerous concerts happening there are a considerable number of non-musical events planed for the weekend. “We got a awesome Kids Zone for the young ones. We have a ton of live painters, graffiti walls; a new, lighted walking path back to the woods stage. Our graphic/artistic director has an awesome funky design coming to us this year on the main stages. We have a taxicab golf cart company on site to help attendees. We got some great raffles going on at the merchandise tent plus a photo booth that will capture the best moments of the weekend!” McLain said.
McLain said that absorbing the approximately 20 hours worth of events every day would be “a marathon, not a sprint.”
