West Coast Kix is Turning Three This Sunday; Come Party With Them In Byrd Park

West Coast Kix is everything Pac-Sun wishes it was and then some. In the three years West Coast Kix has graced the Carytown retail lineup, they have cornered the Richmond market for a wide variety of awesome brands. And they have managed to look very cool doing it. So honestly, it seemed too easy for them to celebrate three years of business by just having a DJ in-store and seeing who wanders in. After all, I've been in stores that were throwing "parties" before, and I didn't even know it. It made a ton more sense to throw a party in Byrd Park, a habitat of those who like to chill and grill in the sun, much like West Coast Kix itself.

"I would describe the event as rad because it has all the elements for a rad time! Sunshine, park hangs, food on the grill and maybe a little twerkin!" West Coast Kix manager Laci Combs told me. Hard to disagree there. She then kindly helped me nail down the reason that "why will this even be rad?" is a perhaps a dumb question. It will be rad because parties are rad! The staff have compiled an ultimate "sweet jams" mix to blast, which is consistent with the possibility of twerkin' mentioned above. Fun stuff all around.

There will be raffles, giveaways, volleyball, and obviously plenty of food. However, the best reason to come to the party Sunday isn't the same reason to go to that kegger on Clay. West Coast Kix wants you to come so they can thank you, the city of Richmond's best dressers and volleyball hot-bods, for "three amazing years" in RVA. Oh, and the sponsors. Awesome young companies like Young Fly and Dangerous, Nectar Sunglasses, and King of Pops will be there to receive their thanks and spread their swagger around as well. Swag and popsicles, of course.

West Coast Kix does things in a "chill way," according to Laci, and I'm sold. The main idea behind this event, besides thanking everyone who made their success possible, is to demonstrate West Coast Kix's chillness by doing what some of its customers might already have spent their Sunday afternoon doing--hanging in the sun in Byrd Park. "We can't thank everyone enough for everything, so hopefully hamburgers and a little Ke$ha will help," Laci said. I think she's right.
