Conrizzle Gets Faded On New Track; New Project Coming In November

It's been a minute since we heard from North Carolina/RVA emcee and producer Conrizzle, but he's apparently been getting a lot of work done behind the scenes. According to Slapdash, we can expect a new full-length in November, but you can check out the first song from it right now. "DRUGZZ" is a spooky-sounding track driven by a repeating keyboard line and a trap-style beat. At several points during the song, Conrizzle spices up the beat with some heavy kick-drum samples that will totally rattle your subwoofer. The music serves as a backdrop for a melancholy tale about a long history of substance abuse, filled with frequent references to pills, weed, and codeine cough syrup. The theme of the lyrics is relentlessly dark; at the same time warning of the dangers of drug abuse and proclaiming intoxication as necessary in order to handle the pain of life. The emcee switches up his flow at points during the track, sometimes spitting lines in an aggressive bark, at other times crooning in a style that almost makes me think of Future (only without the autotune). Check the track out below, and keep an eye out for Conrizzle's forthcoming release.
