Looks like Acorn Community, and their seed exchange business, have taken a blow to the stomach - someone set one of their buildings on fire. I'm not much of an urban farmer, but these folks are linked with Twin Oaks, and they do some good stuff. Consider helping these folks out - they've got an Indigogo set up to raise funds for the damages. Here's a video explaining their story.
And here's some additional details about the help they need:
Winter is nearly upon us and we are in a rush to make repairs to Heartwood. Our sister communities, Twin Oaks Community and East Wind Community, as well as other volunteers, have been generously donating their labor to help us with clean-up and repairs. Even with this assistance, we estimate we need $10,000 to be able to afford to materials we need to complete the repairs. This money will be used to purchase flooring, drywall, appliances, paint, tools, and other items necessary to clean up smoke damage and repair Heartwood.
