Fight Over Museum District Parking Leads to Letters, Passive-Aggressive Maps

Looks like home owners in the Museum district have decided to take a stand against employees and other non-locals parking on their block. Letters have been left on cars, along with maps suggesting parking spots, in what has to be one of the most passive-aggressive moves in RVA Parking history.

CBS 6 has the story

Well, this is one way to show your discontent with people stealing your parking spot - and I'm not sure if this reflects poorly on the neighborhood and its residents or if it's just another reminder of how terrible parking is in this town.

Admittedly, when I think of areas that lack parking, the Museum District doesn't pop into my mind first - Downtown, the Fan near VCU, these areas are a bit more notorious for their poor parking availability.

This really could go one of a few ways in my mind - either the Museum District folks organize and get City Council to slap hourly parking zones around the area (and provide for parking permits) or we all just agree to get along and try to share the limited road space.

Or we all ride bikes - but I'm a little biased here.

Do you live in the Museum District or in an area with terrible parking? How would you handle getting a letter like this?
