Ohio based rapper Stalley (Kyle Myricks) released a new video to commemorate the passing of civil rights activist Nelson Mandela. The song, "Raise Your Weapons" talks about the struggles African-American youth faces 40 years after the civil rights movement started.
It's pretty easy to imagine why someone would feature Richmond in a video about the civil rights movement, but why a rapper from Ohio has so much footage from the streets of RVA, we're not really sure. Either way the video was on World Star Hiphop's front page and it wasn't a street fight, so I guess thats a win for us. Take a look at the video below:
Here's the text supplied with the video:
Description: "December is a month full of inspiration to #RaiseYourWeapons. On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks was arrested and on December 6, 1865 the 13th amendment was ratified. Yesterday we saw a Civil Rights Icon, Nelson Mandela, pass. In his honor, we release the music video today for Stalley's "Raise Your Weapons" off the Honest Cowboy mixtape. The music video is directed by Abraham Vilchez-Moran & Jai Jamison. The song is produced by the Block Beattaz." - StalleyVid
