Every 2nd Friday, come out to Gallery 5 for the latest show series from the Richmond Comedy Coalition, Richmond Famous: The all-improvised comedy show inspired by the true stories of local celebrities.
This month’s guest, Jeff Kelley, is set to hit the stage Friday, December 10th at 8:30pm. Former business reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch and current editor of the satirical blog Tobacco Avenue, Kelley is excited to be bringing his storytelling to life onstage.

The format of Famous bares resemblance to the Upright Citizens Brigade’s wildly popular ASSSSCAT, in which celebrities are invited to start the show off with personal tales that the performers have never heard before. From that, the improvisers create a world of scenes and characters on the spot. Only, the Coalition is keeping it local. In the coming months you may see musicians, local business owners, your favorite bartender, actors, activists, bloggers, and whoever else fits the bill as “Richmond Famous” baring it all for some laughs.

“We love the culture of this city,” Artistic Director Katie Holcomb expands. “Nothing’s funnier than real life, and nothing’s better than having people you know talk about their own real life follies.
Join them Friday, December 10th at Gallery 5. Doors open at 8pm.
