I'm probably showing my age due to the fact that I even remember these guys, but Therapy? were a band from Northern Ireland who got some attention in the post-Nirvana major label feeding frenzy circa the early 90s by straddling the line between the heavy end of the grunge scene and the stripped down metal of bands like Helmet. I had early albums of theirs like Nurse and Troublegum back then, but until I ran across their brand new video, I hadn't thought of them in at least a decade.
"Living In The Shadow Of The Terrible Thing" is the brand new Therapy? single, which was released yesterday in advance of their forthcoming 12th(!) LP, A Brief Crack Of Light, which is due out on February 6. It's a pleasant surprise to hear that Therapy? are still doing what they've always done, and are still doing it just as well as they did fifteen years ago. Maybe this will only matter to other old men like me (I turned 36 on Sunday... yeah, shut up), but if you ask me, Therapy? are due for a late-career renaissance.
