RVA Magazine brings you our newest mini-mag publication--TV Party: A Collection Of Art.
TV Party was a Public-access television cable TV show in New York City that ran from 1978 to 1982. Glenn O'Brien was the host. Chris Stein, co-founder of the pop band Blondie, was the co-host and Walter "Doc" Steding was the leader of the TV Party orchestra. Amos Poe was the director. Guests included Mick Jones, David Byrne, Debbie Harry, James Chance and Jean-Michel Basquiat, among others. -- Wikipedia

In the spirit of that groundbreaking television show, which inspired a Black Flag song and, more importantly, brought the world the best of the NYC art scene when it was still deep underground, we are excited to release the newest in our ongoing Mini-Mag series, TV Party: A Collection Of Art. We pulled from the most talented and diverse illustrators and painters across Virginia to create a printed, pocket-sized, visual catalog of the artistic landscape. It's a quick snapshot of those making waves and keeping things interesting in VA. We hope you enjoy this issue and in turn support the ever-expanding regional art scene.

The issue is already available in digital form elsewhere on our website, but if you want to get your hot little hands on a physical copy of this full-color collection of local artwork, we'll be officially unveiling them to the public at The Republic, located at 2053 W. Broad St., tomorrow night! That's right, Wednesday February 22, in conjunction with Radio Rubber Room's presentation of Republic's Wednesday night house band, The Dream Machine, and their special guests, local country-rockers The Vendors, RVA Magazine will be on hand passing out copies of TV Party. Look for us on the scene starting at 9 PM, and come on down and grab a mini-mag while supplies last!

If you can't be there, fear not--copies of the mini-mag will be appearing at various locations around town, including the Republic, Mekong, New York Deli, West Coast Kix, and many other fine local establishments, over the course of the next few days. But keep your eyes peeled, because with quality content like this, you can't expect them to last long!
