Hey everybody, the veteran power metal warriors of Iced Earth are coming through Washington DC in just under two weeks, and we've got two tickets to give away! On tour in support of their tenth album, Dystopia, this is their first American tour with new vocalist Stu Block, who joined just before Dystopia was recorded. Carrying on the sound of classic 80s power metal bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, and mixing in influences from Scandinavian groups like Mercyful Fate and In Flames, Iced Earth are carrying on the triumphant tradition of powerful, melodically infused, epic heavy metal of the sort that makes you want to raise a sword to the sky. I doubt the 930 Club will let you bring your broadsword to this gig, but they'll be plenty of opportunities to throw the horns and raise your hands to the heavens during their set of blazing metal fury, so don't miss it!
WHO: Iced Earth, Warbringer
WHERE: The 930 Club (815 V. St. NW, Washington DC)
WHEN: Tuesday, March 13, 7 PM
ADMISSION: $25--advance tickets available HERE
And as I said before, you could potentially even go for free! We'll be doing a drawing for the winner in one week's time, so sometime before noon on Wednesday, March 7, send an email to andrew@rvamag.com, and just for the hell of it, let me know which Iced Earth album is your favorite. And now, to whet your appetite for the show, here's the video for the title track to the brand new Iced Earth album, Dystopia. Bang your head!
