Hey indie rockers, this is big news--Florida rock n' rollers Surfer Blood will be in town tomorrow for an in-store performance at BK Music! Starting promptly at 6 PM, Surfer Blood will be playing a brief set, followed by a meet and greet/record signing. Awesome, right? We know there's a lot happening in town tomorrow, but all the big shows are starting later in the evening, so start your evening early by heading down to BK Music on Midlothian Turnpike. Skip dinner if you have to--this will be worth it.
Surfer Blood hit the scene back in 2010 with their debut album, Astro Coast, released on indie label Kanine Records, who've also brought us Eternal Summers, Bleeding Rainbow, Grizzly Bear, and quite a few other great indie bands over the years. But Surfer Blood took things to a whole new level, catching so much attention with their mix of poppy surf sounds and guitar-driven alt-rock that they soon signed to Warner Bros. Their second album, Pythons, was produced by Gil Norton (The Pixies, Jimmy Eat World) and is a pure pop gem that creates a great first impression with its leadoff single, "Weird Shapes." Listen below:
Pythons will be released tomorrow, and Surfer Blood will be commemorating the release date here in RVA with BK Music, which will have plenty of copies of the new album on hand for you to purchase and get autographed. The whole thing happens at 6 PM tomorrow, so get stoked! BK Music is located at 7106 Midlothian Turnpike--for more information on this event, click HERE.
