DAILY FIX: Jonathan Vassar And The Speckled Bird

Veteran Richmond singer-songwriter Jonathan Vassar and his backing band, The Speckled Bird, have just released a video for "Turn To Face The Wind," from their album Signs And Wonders, available from local label Triple Stamp Records. The video was shot by Richmond-based director Kevin Gallagher, Vassar and the Speckled Bird's music has a quiet, down-to-earth feel. It harks back to a simpler time, when people lived in closer harmony with the land, and did a lot of work with their hands. This vibe is captured perfectly in the video, in which members of the band work together to chop down trees, tend to livestock, and finish up a project in their front yard as the sun sets. It's a beautiful clip that perfectly captures the laid-back aura of Jonathan Vassar's music. Check it out.
