This Sunday at the Tobacco Company is the fourth Richmond Music Review. Anyone who has attended the previous three know that it is a great time, with local bands playing to showcase the musical sounds originating from Richmond. Brought to you by RVA Mag and Radio Rubber Room, this event will bring together several local and near-local bands for the night. And with no cover charge and $2 food and drink specials, Sunday at the Tobacco Company is going to be an explosion. The line-up this time is Grease Trigger, The Inflatables, Barrelhouse, and Brother Bill.
Grease Trigger plays a mesmerizing mix of Southern and roots rock. Their sound is one which anyone with an appreciation for rock n' roll will definitely enjoy. Russell Lacy sings while playing lead guitar, fronting this group of of well established Richmond musicians. Corey Wells plays rhythm guitar, Kai Eason keeps it tight on bass, and Scott Lewis bangs the drum kit. Grease Trigger will be releasing a cd late this month. The Inflatables (pictured atop) are known for their bluegrass style. They've been making the rounds at Cary St. Café, The Camel, and various other local venues. They create a fun upbeat show while merging traditional bluegrass with psychobilly and pure Americana. With Ben Butterworth on vocals and rhythm guitar, Zach Hudgins on bass, Corey Wells on lead guitar, and Jesse Wells on fiddle & mandolin, the group brings with them a fun atmosphere. With its six members, Barrelhouse is a well known electric Southern blues ensamble. Influenced by blues from all around the world, Barrelhouse adds its own Richmond flavor to the recipe. Barrelhouse consists of Nat Hyman and Brandon Martin doing vocals and guitar, joined by Stu Hutton on drums, Tom Mayer on harmonica, Jimmy Z on bass, and Matthew Zavitz playing the tenor sax. Brother Bill is a four piece alt-rock band from Warrenton, VA. They bring an upbeat and refreshing country-inspired rock n' roll sound to the stage. The band consist of Dan Mulrooney on lead guitar and vocal, Aaron Delong on rhythm guitar, Alex Berklovich on bass, and Pat Mulrooney on drums. They have a full album which can be found on iTunes and Spotify, and you should listen in preparation for what will be a great show.
